How It Works

ACTIVATION PROCESS FOR CUSTOMERS:

Dial USSD Code: Users will dial a short code to activate the service. For example, dial *882*1# to activate the Reverse Call service.

  • Example Confirmation: “Reverse Call Charge service is now active. You will be charged ₦10/day for this service. Start adding contacts to enjoy free calls.”

    • Add Contacts: After activation, users can add family members, workers, or business partners to their contact list via USSD or SMS and Web

  • USSD: *123*08051234567# to add a contact.
  • SMS: Send “ADD 08051234567” to 882.
  • Users of Reverse Call Charge service can add mobile numbers via www.reversecallcharge.com

    • RECIPIENT CALL FLOW:

    Calling the Activated Number: When a family member, worker, or business partner calls the activated number, the system recognizes that the call is from a free-contact and connects the call.

  • The caller is not charged for the call.
  • The call receiver will be billed

    • Charge Notification: The recipient (who activated the service) will receive a notification confirming they’re being charged for the call.

  • Example SMS: “You received a free call from [contact]. You are being charged ₦10/day for this service.”

    • Free Calls: The caller (family member, worker, business partner) will not see any charge on their balance, but the recipient will be paying for it.

    SERVICE MANAGEMENT

    Add/Remove Contacts: Customers can manage the list of people who can call them for free.

  • USSD: *882*RemoveContact# to remove someone from the list.
  • SMS: Send “REMOVE 08051234567” to 1234.
  • Web: Reverse Call Charge service users can delete mobile numbers via the website. Users will be required to enter an authorisation code created during signup when deleting a number

    • Status Check: Customers can check the status of their subscription and number of contacts.

  • USSD: *882# for status check.
  • SMS: Send “RCC” to 1234 for a list of added contacts and subscription details.
